CIP Lands Funding for Green Hydrogen Project Down Under

This will result in approximately 2 million tonnes being transported to Asia.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners ( CIP Through its CI Energy Transition Fund I (ETF I), has received AU$814 million ($511.95 million) from the Australian government to support its Murchison Green Hydrogen project.
CIP stated that the financing is part of the government’s Hydrogen Headstart program.
The Murchison Green Hydrogen initiative, based in Western Australia, aims to generate around 1.8 million tons of green ammonia each year, mainly for shipment to Asian markets. This project will be driven by 6 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy from both onshore wind and solar sources.
"We believe there is substantial potential in green hydrogen, and initiatives like the Murchison Green Hydrogen project are crucial for nations and sectors to advance further in reducing carbon emissions and attaining energy self-sufficiency," stated Karsten Uhd Plauborg, a partner at CIP.
CIP boasts an Australian development pipeline totaling over 30 gigawatts.
