World's second most beautiful island sees 30% surge in foreign tourists during Lunar New Year

Phu Quoc, recently voted the world's second most beautiful island, welcomed 74,833 foreign tourists during the nine-day Tet holiday, marking a 30.2% increase year-on-year.
Foreign visitors accounted for nearly 40% of the island's total arrivals during the 9-day holiday, which wrapped up on Sunday, according to statistics from Kien Giang Province's Department of Tourism.
In total, Phu Quoc received 281,000 visitors, up 27% compared to the same period last year.
Data from booking platform Mustgo showed that 90% of accommodations on the island were fully booked, with the majority of reservations in 4-star and 5-star hotels.
Phu Quoc International Airport handled more than 1,000 flights, with many carrying international passengers.
Most flights to Phu Quoc during Tet originated from Taiwan, South Korea, mainland China, Kazakhstan, Poland, Mongolia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore.
